Thus, Liwonde National Park is one of the interesting places to take a rest in Malawi. If you would like to visit this National Park, you can drive for about 4 hours from Lilongwe. You can stop by to see Lake Malawi as well. It will take around 3 hours and a half if you drive from Blantyre and you can visit Mount Mulanje as well. 

4. Majete Wildlife Reserve: The big five

It’s only 70 kilometers away to the southwest of Blantyre, Malawi’s commercial hub. This is a 70,000-hectare conservation area in the Lower Shire Valley. Currently, this is a home for the big five, as well as zebras, hippos, crocodiles, and many other antelopes, and more than 300 species of birds with the most beautiful lake in Malawi. This place is very worth visiting. 

5. Mount Mulanje: Hiking place in Malawi

With a height of 3,000 meters, Mount Mulanje is the highest peak in Central Africa. This granite mountain range is ideal for a fantastic hiking experience and is filled with beautiful surrounding views and spectacular waterfalls that flow into the icy rock pools which is perfect for soaking in to refresh yourself. Still, hiking here is quite challenging, so before you get here, you need to get your body ready and find good-quality hiking shoes. This place is located 65 kilometers from Blantyre to the east.

6. Chongoni Rock Art Area: Late Stone Age art

Art on rocks, one of UNESCO’s World Heritage Sites. We can see the late Stone Age Image on the rocks in this region. Located within a forested granite hill, the area covers more than 126.4 square kilometers, 127 areas of which are filled with rock art in Central Africa. These arts reflect the culture, and well-being of Chiwa farmers who have created rock art as well as paintings by BaTwa, hunter-gatherers who have lived in this area since the late Stone Age. The nearest city is dezda.
