  • Bwejuu Beach

Bwejuu is one of the most popular beaches in Zanzibar, located on the east side of Zanzibar. It’s a quiet and private beach just an hour and a half from Stone Town. Apart from the beach being surrounded by sea and palm trees, local people are friendly and there are many resort accommodations.

Moreover, this beach has a lot of activities to do such as mangrove forest, dhow boat sailing, visiting the Bweuza village, coral safari, diving, or going to Stone Town to see the red colobus monkeys.

  • Paje Beach

Paje Beach, the broad white beach on the southeast coast of Zanzibar, is quite peaceful and relaxing. It’s also near a small village where you can see locals collect seaweeds for community products such as organic soap to help boost local income.

Paje Beach is famous for its water activities like kitesurfing which attracts professional tourists from all over the world to experience kitesurfing here. The warm sea is also perfect for scuba diving to see the color of sea life, starfish, turtles, and moray eel. Also after sunset, this beach is perfect for beach parties with your friends.

  • Michamvi Beach

Micamvi is a peninsula in the middle of the eastern coast of Zanzibar Island, consisting of two parts: Micamvi-Pingwe and Micamvi-Kae, which are filled with coral lakes and palm trees and take a peek at the beauty of coral cliffs. In addition, there are two big resorts here, but they are quite far from people and only have long beaches.

  • Nungwi Beach

Located on the northwest side, it is one of the most beautiful and famous beaches in Zanzibar. Nungwi Beach is also the most vibrant and colorful beach with hotels, resorts, restaurants and nightlife bars.

It’s not just for people who love to party, but it’s also a beautiful reef that is perfect for snorkeling and scuba diving. If you’re lucky, you can see dolphins, green turtles, and whale sharks at times of the year, also this is a good spot for sunset viewing.

  • Kendwa Beach

This beach is like a sister beach to Nungwi beach. Kendwa Beach is much quieter than its sister beach in the north. It’s one of the few beaches in Zanzibar where the water is less changing. This beach has clear water suitable for swimming, snorkeling, and scuba diving into colorful starfish. Kendwa Beach is also known for its stunning sunset spots at night. The beach will be alive at night in another form with nightlife and beach parties.

  • Kizimkazi Beach

The fishing village on the southern coast of Zanzibar has two small communities, Kizimkazi Dimbani in the north and Kizimkasi Mkunguni in the south. Its coastline in the south is different because of coral cliffs. On this beach, it is also famous for safari and dolphins. We can go swimming with dolphins, but play with them carefully. Avoid contact with the eyes and airways used to breathe on dolphins’ heads.

  • Matemwe Beach

One of the northeastern coastlines of Zanzibar, this is the longest and most beautiful sand beach in Zanzibar. Behind it lies a fishing village where we can experience native life.

Just two kilometers over the main beach, a little over the coral reef, we’ll find Mnemba Atoll, a world-famous diving island. The area is surrounded by coral reefs. It’s perfect for scuba diving and snorkeling on the island and also perfect for kitesurfing and sailing.

  • Pongwe Beach

Pongwe Beach is the perfect place to swim because it’s quiet, and lined with palm trees and a variety of plants. All of its beaches are protected by coral reefs off the coast, providing tranquil water for everyone to swim safely. It’s perfect for snorkeling trips and cruising through coral reefs.
